How to Not Send a Card to Luigi Mangione
I recently sent a card to Luigi Mangione. It bounced back unopened. The postal notes said, "unk sender" but that wasn't the problem. The outside of the envelope violated a number of prison-mail protocols, nevermind the stuff that was inside. Below I break down the mistakes I made and then list helpful guidelines from the We Love Luigi Bluesky account. Here are the guidelines I broke:
Basic Prison Mail Rules You Probably Didn’t Know
*There must be a return address in the upper left corner of the envelope, must fully spell out your first name, last name, and address
*Must include L’s middle name on front
*Must not incite violence
*No stickers
*Regular sized white or lined paper
*The letter should be signed by you, and have your name in print underneath
*Wide margins because prison copier will cut off edges
